'Beauty and Care' how it started...

 

Hello, my name is Emmelien Porrez, and as a 10-year-old girl, I already dreamed of one day opening my own beauty salon.

With that mindset, I started looking for a secondary school that would help me on my way as quickly as possible.

 

At the Sint-Jozef Institute in Kessel-Lo, I was able to study what I so desperately wanted to do from my third year onwards: caring for people and offering relaxation in their busy daily lives. After my four-year training, I was given the opportunity to study for two additional specialization years: Aesthetic Body Care and Make-up/Special Effects Make-up.

 

I had graduated at 19, but where would I find work...?

 

A month later, in the summer of 2016, I was able to start as a medical pedicurist at the 'Zoniën' nursing home in Tervuren. It was an opportunity I seized with both hands, where I was able to gain a wealth of experience in a short time. At the same time, I started working at VRT doing make-up for shows such as 'Van Gils en Gasten', 'Het Journaal', 'Terzake', and 'De Afspraak'.

 

In 2018, I was able to rent a property in the center of Vossem, and after an extensive renovation, I was able to realize my dream there in February 2019. My own beauty salon, 'Beauty and Care', my childhood dream from 12 years ago, has opened.

 

Since 2024, I have also become the proud mom of my sweet daughter Eléonore.
